Atherton play in the Bolton and District Cricket Association.
The club, founded in 1872 as Atherton Collieries, becoming members of The Bolton and District Cricket Association in 1921. During their time in the Bolton Association, Atherton have won the Cross Cup seven times and the league championship twice.
Atherton C.C are working towards the ECB Clubmark accreditation and hope to gain approval in season 2008.
Atherton's ground, Higham Park, can be found off Eckersley Fold Lane, Howe Bridge, Atherton.
The club runs 2 senior teams and 5 junior teams at U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17.
Training for seniors is held on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm, with junior teams coaching held as follows;-
Under 11 Monday
Under 13 and 15 Wednesday
Under 9 Thursday
All at 6.30pm.
Coaching is carried out by ECB qualified club coaches.
A warm welcome will be extended to all players and spectators alike visiting Atherton Cricket Club.
